Description

The word, ‘theology’, sounds daunting to many Christians. But this need not, and should not, be the case, for the simple reason that God has revealed himself through his Word so people might know him. The Psalmist says,

‘Great are the works of the Lord,

studied by all who delight in them’

(Ps. 111:2).

The one, true, and living God wants his image-bearers, who have been ruined by the Fall, to be

saved through the Lord Jesus Christ, who came in the incarnation, lived a perfect life, was crucified as our substitute, and who rose on the third day, so that we might be renewed by the Spirit and enjoy everlasting life in the world to come. For Christians

to believe and live according to those truths, they must theologize. It is to that end Theology Talks was written— to help ordinary Christians grow in their understanding and appreciation

of the core doctrines of their faith.

Theology Talks is the beautiful outgrowth of a pastor’s heart for God’s people. It is a striking blend of robust theological thinking with practical contemporary applications. Yuta Seki manages to introduce important terms coupled with wonderfully precise, simple,

illustrative, and memorable definitions. He is a gifted travel companion into the world of theological study.

Theology Talks is a much-needed systematic theology for the local church. This work is for the pastor who wants to disciple and train his congregation to go deeper in the Word. It is also very helpful for believers who want to go deeper in their own personal study. I highly recommend Seki’s Theology Talks to pastors and to all who want to grow in Christ.
